It is the oldest Synagogue in Portugal still preserved . Built in the mid fifteenth century, after the expulsion of the Jewish , had several purposes as a prison and warehouse .

Church of São João Batista
Inside this church try to find the capitel, depicting the Legend of Tomar Foundation. According to the legend, a noble walked against a wild pig, when friends encouraged him to hunt it, screaming "Toma-lo , Toma-lo";after that scene this land became known as " Tomar ".
Gualdim Pais
PBeing the founder of Tomar, we had to dedicate him a room. Fought alongside of Dom Afonso Henriques and founded the Castle of Tomar. Was the Grand Master of the Knights Templar , and died in 1195 , lying buried in the Church of “ Santa Maria do Olival” grove.
